Getting to Kangaroo Island

Travelling From Adelaide

Kangaroo Island is accessible by both air and sea. Flying from Adelaide (ADL) to Kingscote (KGC) takes approximately 30 minutes with Qantas. Travellers from Sydney or Melbourne can also reach Kingscote with a connecting flight through Adelaide.

If you prefer travelling by sea, the ferry departs from Cape Jervis, about a 2-hour drive from Adelaide. The ferry crossing takes around 45 minutes, and it’s important to arrive at least 30 minutes before departure for check-in and boarding.

For those visiting during summer, KIConnect offers a passenger-only ferry service with the option to hire vehicles once you arrive on the island.
